There is a popular belief that Lord Ganesh visits the earth during these 10 days to bless his devotees, this 10-day festival not only celebrates Lord Ganesh's birthday but is also a social and community event that brings people together and promotes harmony…. Ganpati bappa considered the God of new beginnings, new beginnings, remover of obstacles and patron of learning. WHAT IS GANESH CHATURTHI????

Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of the Hindu god Ganesh. The first day of this beautiful festival also called Vinayak Chaturthi which is celebrated with great festivities all over the country especially in Maharashtra…. It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born on this day. Representing auspiciousness, wisdom, prosperity and happiness, Lord Ganesha is worshiped in almost every home before any pooja or ritual.

last day of Ganesh Chaturthi known as GANESH VISARJAN lord Ganpati returns to MOUNT KAILASH to his parents Lord Shiva and Parvati.

                                 

SOME IMPORTANT MAIN EVENTS –


• ARRIVAL OF LORD GANESHA – The festival begins with the installation of beautifully crafted idols of Lord Ganesha in homes and public pandals.

•PANDAL AND DECORATION – Elaborate pandals are erected in public places and neighborhoods to house the idols. These are often decorated with lights, flowers and various decorations.

•POOJA AND RITUALS – Daily prayers and rituals are performed including offering flowers, sweets, coconuts and other auspicious items to Lord Ganesha.

•AARTI AND BHAJANS – Devotees gather to sing bhajans and perform aarti in praise of Lord Ganesha.

•PROCESSION – On the last day, the idol is taken out in a grand procession through the streets accompanied by music, dance and enthusiastic devotees.

•VISARJAN – The festival culminates with the immersion of Ganesha idols in bodies of water such as rivers, lakes or the sea. This process is known as visarjan. It symbolizes the departure of Lord Ganesha with the belief that he will return next year.
