MADHYA-PRADESH ELECTIONS 2023

                           आपका वोट आपकी आवाज़ है

Madhya Pradesh went to the hustings on November 17, and the outcome of this election holds immense significance for both the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress. This election arrives nearly six months prior to the Lok Sabha polls, making it a crucial battleground for both parties.

Situated at the heart of India's map, Madhya Pradesh has been a key focus for the Congress, which emerged victorious in the previous election but subsequently lost power when 22 Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), including Jyotiraditya Scindia, defected to the BJP, leading to a change in government.

The Madhya Pradesh assembly independently formulates laws for local body elections, whereas any modifications made by the state legislature to state level elections must be sanctioned by the Indian parliament.

The Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, also known as the Legislative Assembly, is the sole legislative body of the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. It serves as the central hub for the state's legislative affairs and is located in the city of Bhopal.
